We still ain't done here!
everyone hates it. the nieghbors, the ricers ,the rednecks in the trucks,stock mustangs and TPI comaros..
the tranny is costing me a TON! but it will be done right. and done once.. this is slowing down the actual mods.. so. what is a crazy guy to do? whip out the sawzal you say? don't mind-if-i-do.

not much left... the glass is held up by the cord.. the sawzal will have its turn at the paneling soon. but for now this is light enough. dont you think?

as sson as i get a new steering wheel and tiddy up the wires this will be how she runs..i might put a rachet style shifter on the floor..

you can see if you looks closely, the old holes for the radiator. all i did was redrill with a small bit and run the original bolts to resecure the radiator.
i did this so that down the road i can mount a front mount intercooler in front of the radiator.. this sliding over of the radiator gives me just enough room to slide some pipes by it with out major surgery.. |
you can see where i was feathering the metal with a hacksaw ,so i could get a small blade down to it and make the job easier. the day i did this the tranny blew.. so into the shop it goes..
two things i have learned...
chops saws, sawzalls, and 4 inch cutt off disks RULE.
and 16PSI on a stock motor without any help for it what so ever isnt what some people would call.. "SMART".. food for thought.

I swear some more pictures and updates soon. this tranny is killing my funds and i havent plyed with any boost in WEEKS.. i want my mini back!! WAHYYYYYYY.HOPEFULLY when she is back im going to get the smoke fixed. i think i cracked a pistons playing with it. and then do the infamous balance shaft and oil pick up mod. then an underdrive pulley. i might even be able to swing for a DYNO run with the beast-o-matic..any QN's or things that you want to know what i didnt explain well enough feel more than free to drop me a line! frelin(NO @ SPAM)juno.com
i have the original turbo van tranny for sale now. should make a good core.. i'll even include doing a MP shift kit on the stock valve body.. the rear clutch is GONE. but the rest of the tranny looks good.
if you want a turbo van tranny that has 115K miles on it. and was only abused for the last 100 miles on it let me know. these things are suposed to have the biggest baddest internals for turbo tranny's..
i have no idea how to ship it. but if you want it let me know and i will work out something., |
